A name, a date, a "concept of a plan"

Mark your calendars: we officially have a name, date, and venue for our brand-new writing and publishing conference!

Our event is called TBR. As in: To Be Read. As in: that’s the whole point of this endeavor, isn’t it? To get our words into the hands of readers. To help each other become better writers, share our work with the wider world, and have a fantastic time while doing it.

TBR will have programming for writers at two distinct stages of our careers: Those who haven't yet published a first book and are gearing up to do so, and those who are writing and selling our 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th books and beyond. Is this you? Then you belong at TBR.

Both of these TBR piles are sexy, because books are sexy.

Our inaugural event will take place—cue the 🎉🎉—on Saturday, January 17th, 2026. On Sunday, we'll also host an optional day of literary service for all interested attendees, which we hope will be a chance to boost our local community and continue the camaraderie.

We tried to Photoshop in a graphic of a little person holding a journal, but it ended up looking more like the graffiti you might find in a public bathroom stall, so you’ll just have to use your imagination.

And where oh where will this event take place? In the beautiful main building of Lesley University in Porter Square!

We are so damn happy about this space. Imagine, if you will: you’re in a spacious classroom, settled into a comfy chair, discussing interesting and provocative literary topics. After your conference sessions, you might peruse the books at Porter Square Books Cambridge, our official bookstore, followed by gabbing with new and old friends at a cocktail hour in the late afternoon. And don’t worry: we’re throwing a party on Saturday night too!
